Artist Statement: A visual essay about the joy of a good book. Our young man is so engrossed in his book that he’s going to be late for his ballgame, his ice cream cone is melting in the summer sun, and his dog is being completely ignored (but he doesn’t mind because he’s awaiting that first big drip of ice cream.) The homemade slingshot in his back pocket is a sign that even rough and tuff boys love to read.
